- Access
- Microsoft's basic database creation and maintenance software. The simplicity of the software allows unskilled programmers to create simple applications without having to deal with the more advanced features found in larger databases.
- ActiveX
- Created by Microsoft to add increased functionality and allow web designers to embed multimedia files in web pages. ActiveX technologies are currently only supported by Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser.
- Anchor
- An HTML element used to define a link to another document or to specific location on a current document.
- Anonymous FTP
- FTP is a method of uploading or downloading public files using FTP.
- Apache
- The world's most popular web server software. Apache is a free open source web server application for unix based systems. The Apache web server is developed by a community of open-source developers.
- ASP
- Active Server Pages (ASP) is Microsoft's server-side technology for dynamically generated web pages. VBScript is the language frequently used with ASP, although any active scripting engine can be used, such as JScript or PerlScript.
